Richard Martinez began his career as a young man in 1979, having attended Westinghouse Vocational and Technical High School whereby he completed training in electrical installation. He then apprenticed with Marine Electric, Lutheran Medical and Joseph Weinstein Electric. In 1983 he became a New York City electrician while also pursuing continuing education in Electrical Code. In 1995 Richard obtained his Master Electrical License and founded A#1 Universal Electrical Inc. During the same year he joined Five Boro Electrical Contractors Association to stay ahead of the curve within the electrical industry. After several years of active participation with Five Boro, Richard became a member of the Executive Board where he serves as 2nd Vice President (having previously chaired the 1st Vice President position). Mr. Martinez is passionate about Five Boro and its mission to help Licensed Master Electricians maintain their license status and stay current as leaders within the electrical industry.
